The Voiles de Saint-Tropez is a festive event as well, with many activities open to the public. Discover the season's highlight and live it fully during your stay at Lou Pinet. Our team will gladly assist you in planning your trip to the Voiles de Saint-Tropez, one of the region's most famous events. Set your sails!

THE HISTORY OF THE VOILES DE SAINT-TROPEZ

The history of the Voiles de Saint-Tropez began on September 29, 1981, when a simple challenge was issued. The sailboat Pride took on a 12-meter Ikra on a course from Saint-Tropez village to Pampelonne beach, passing by the Nioulargo. This is how it remained until the following year when the 12-meter Ikra wanted to take its revenge, accompanied by other boats who also took part in this new challenge. Every year since then, the world's most extraordinary sailing boats: traditional boats during the first week and modern maxi yachts during the second week, have gathered in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez to challenge each other in an atmosphere where competition and conviviality are mixed.

THE PROGRAM OF THE VOILES DE SAINT-TROPEZ

The course of the Voiles de Saint-Tropez may vary each day depending on the weather conditions. Generally, the course area for traditional sailing boats is located between the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and the coast of Cannes. The area for modern sailboats is between the Moutte, the Salins (exit of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez) off Pampelonne and up to Cavalaire if the conditions are right.

You too can easily experience the race as a real skipper. The team at Lou Pinet will be able to connect you with the various contacts of service providers who can offer the opportunity to rent a boat and follow the race as closely as possible. To avoid driving, the hotel provides a valet cab service that will drive you and pick you up at the end of the day. A list of restaurants in the city can also be supplied, leaving you with nothing but time to enjoy this extraordinary day in the company of top athletes.

As well as the races, numerous events and festive evenings are open to the public which are hosted every day in Saint-Tropez. As the sun slowly begins to decline after a day at the races, enjoy live music and DJ sets that invite you to a moment of relaxation and dancing.

THE 2022 EDITION OF LES VOILES DE SAINT-TROPEZ

This year again, Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez will be held in early autumn. During the week of September 24 to October 1, 2022, the event will host classic and modern boats, with a prize-giving ceremony on October 1 in the evening. The following week, from October 2 to 8, the modern boats will set off on specific courses with a departure from Saint-Tropez on October 4. The most impressive boats, such as the modern maxi yachts, will be competing. For this race, the prize-giving will take place on the evening of October 8, 2022.
